Oasis Live '25 Tour: Night Two in Pasadena, CA at the Rose Bowl, 9/7/25.

On August 28, 2009, Oasis was supposed to headline Rock en Seine in Paris, but a backstage fight between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher blew up the show…and the band itself. What followed was 16 years of brutal public feuding that made the idea of seeing Oasis again feel like pure fantasy. So when Oasis Live ’25 was announced last year, tickets sold out instantly, but plenty of us wondered: could the brothers actually make peace long enough to play? When I flew in from Dallas on Sunday, September 7, 2025, and my friend Laura picked me up from LAX, as we headed to the Rose Bowl, we were still half-joking that the whole thing might collapse before it even started.

Then the lights went down, and all that doubt vanished. Oasis stormed into “Hello,” and suddenly 90,000 people were screaming like it was 1995 all over again. The setlist was a dream, like a time machine and a victory lap rolled into one. It was filled with hit after hit and mixed with deep cuts that longtime fans never thought we’d hear live again. “Acquiesce” had Noel and Liam trading lines like they were born to do it, “Morning Glory” and “Some Might Say” rattled the stadium, and when they slipped into “Talk Tonight” and “Half the World Away,” the energy softened into something almost intimate. Liam stalked the stage in a parka like the California heat didn’t exist, tossing out quick one-liners, while Noel stayed cool and steady, as if the songs themselves were proof enough of why they were there.

The Rose Bowl atmosphere was overwhelming. Giant screens behind the band pulsed with psychedelic collages, flashes of vintage Oasis clips, and bursts of color that turned the massive venue into something otherworldly. The crowd didn’t just sing…they shouted, roared, and bounced in unison, turning the stadium into what one review called “a Britpop cathedral.” Every chorus hit like a tidal wave, with strangers hugging, crying, and grinning as if the songs were stitched into their DNA. You could feel the bassline of “Supersonic” shaking in your chest, see waves of arms bouncing during “Roll With It,” and watch strangers clinging to each other as “Stand by Me” filled the night air. By the time “Live Forever” hit, it was less of a performance and more of a mass outpouring with thousands of people shouting words they’ve carried for decades. At points, it felt less like watching a concert and more like being inside the music.

And then came “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” I’d sung that song at least a thousand times in my car, but standing there, with Noel strumming the opening chords and the entire Rose Bowl taking the first line before he even sang a word, it hit me like a tidal wave. My throat tightened, and I felt tears forming that I didn’t even expect. For a moment, it wasn’t about the Gallaghers or the reunion; it was about every memory that song carried for me, every heartbreak and every hope, and realizing I was sharing that exact feeling with tens of thousands of others. It was overwhelming in the best possible way.

The encore rolled on: “Wonderwall” glowing under the night sky, and then “Champagne Supernova” closing it all as fireworks exploded above Pasadena, perfectly timed with the final chords. It was as if the band was sealing their legacy with a cosmic exclamation point. As Liam and Noel left the stage, I reflected that this night somehow felt monumental.

Walking out of the Rose Bowl, Laura and I looked at each other and just laughed. We had bet on whether the Gallaghers would make it through the night, and instead it felt like we’d just witnessed something we never thought we’d get. We got two hours of pure joy, 23 songs that spanned a lifetime, and a reminder that sometimes the impossible actually happens. Oasis didn’t just reunite; they gave us the night of our lives.
