- EVERCLEAR w/ Taylor Young Band
- Sparkle and Fade 30th Anniversary Tour
- 1/14/26 - Granada Theater - Dallas, TX
On a clear and cold night in January, the Taylor Young Band and Everclear took the stage at Dallas’ historic Granada Theater for a night of live rock that bridged eras and generations, transporting some in attendance back to their youth and transporting others to new memories.

The evening kicked off with the Taylor Young Band, a Texas-bred group led by singer-songwriter Taylor Young, whose journey through the local music scene spans drumming in fringe favorites like Hi-Fi Drowning and touring with acts such as Young Heart Attack and The Polyphonic Spree before finding his own voice as a frontman.
Their sound, drawn from breezy power pop, Americana, and shimmering dream pop, comes from their debut album, Mercury Transit, filled with melodic hooks, Southern twang, and earnest storytelling. Backed by longtime collaborators, the band’s warm harmonies and genre-bending style set a welcoming mood that had fans engaged from the first chord.

Their set featured every song from their record, Mercury Transit, and fans learned that, like many of them, Taylor had been a fan of Everclear from an early age.

Next up was Everclear, from Portland, Oregon. With over 30 years of history behind them, and on their first show of 2026, they immediately captured the attention of the crowd with some of their most popular tunes, including “Heroin Girl,” and, “Father of Mine.”
Moments of reflection from the band’s founder and lead singer, Art Alexakis, permeated the set as he reflected on the rough times at the beginning and the sudden influx of funds into his bank accounts. Alexakis’ vulnerability further strengthened the bond between the band and fans, and included tributes to all those fighting battles that others may not know of, whether it be drugs, alcohol, or other disabilities.
Scattered throughout the set were some of the bands other biggest hits, including “So Much for the Afterglow,” and “Wonderful.” Fans learned the meaning behind the song, “Don’t Fall Down.” A song written by Alexakis after several years of sobriety, a reminder of the dangers of relapse and of his own personal struggles with addiction.

Alexakis brought fans on stage for “AM Radio” and teased the crowd with short and sweet covers of AC/DC at the request of a fan in the crowd, and “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin. Before ending the main set with “I Will Buy You a New Life,” fans were introduced to the band: Freddy Herrera on bass, Dave French on lead guitar, and Brian Nolan on drums. The band rounded out the night with, perhaps, their most popular tune, “Santa Monica.”

By the time Everclear wrapped up their show, fans at the Granada Theater were unified by shared memories and perspective. What could have easily been a straightforward gig full of nostalgia, instead became a reminder of music’s ability to grow alongside its audience. Between the Taylor Young Band’s fresh, heartfelt opening and Everclear’s honest reflections woven into decades of hits, the evening honored both where music has been and where it continues to resonate. It was a night defined not just by familiar songs, but by connection, resilience, and the enduring power of live rock music.
