Music Fiends’ Angela Alameda caught up with “passionate post-punk” band DECEITS on their stop at Spinster Records in Dallas, TX to chat about the joys of teaching, touring, new music on the horizon, and more. Watch the clip above!
The Los Angeles trio, DECEITS, describe themselves as being “too romantic for the punks, too fierce for the goths” and classify their sound as “passionate post-punk.”
They draw their influences from deathrock, hardcore punk, dreampop, 90’s screamo and new wave to craft their unique take on the darker shade of 1980’s post punk that was pioneered by bands like The Cure and Joy Division. Fans of The Cure, New Order, Human Tetris, The Chameleons, and Bauhaus should love these guys!
You can catch DECEITS playing the Southern Gothic Festival along with The Chameleons and Vision Video at the famous 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA on October 26th.
