JANUARY JANE is one of those bands that soulfully embodies that 80’s neon-streaked vibe rock that took us by storm once upon a time. Founded and based in New York City, vocalist Pat Via and guitarist Mitch Mitchell had met out of sheer happenstance at an art gallery. From that night on, they were writing music together. Joined by keyboardist Peter Scialla after a very similar meeting of the minds, JANUARY JANE was formed. The vibrant ability to extract 80’s influence with a modern twist in the studio and on stage is an unmatched ability in this industry.
In January of 2021, the band signed with BMG Records and released their own Hall & Oates cover (with a dance video!) of “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)”, which you can watch below. Their newest EP, Your Drug released September 17 via BMG/Whiskey Vinyl records, which you can stream below.
Pat Via and Mitch Mitchell gave Music Fiends some wicked answers to our PROBE questions- read on below!!
1) If a roach crashed your rehearsal space, would you run or would you kill it?
2) Does anyone in the band like to play practical jokes? If so, what’s one of the all-time best ones?
3) What’s the last gift you received?
4) If you could pick one thing about yourself that you’d like your fans to know, what would it be?
5) What music are you listening to lately?
