STATION Vocalist Patrick Kearney goes under The PROBE

NYC-based band STATION has been touring the country and bringing back high-energy hard rock since 2011. They’ve shared the stage with some of the greats such as Pat Benatar and Lynch Mob, and played multiple festivals, including Rocklahoma, M3 Festival, and Musikfest. Their new album, Perspective, dropped October 8th, which includes the single “I Can’t Find My Way.” Vocalist and co-founder Patrick Kearney was happy to give us a few moments to answer some of our PROBE questions;

Considering the band is named after Station in Bill & Ted, we knew we’d be getting back some comical answers. Read on below!

1) If a roach crashed into your rehearsal space, would you run or would you kill it?

Each band member would react like this:

Pat – “Ugh…’proceeds to find paper or bag to pick up and flush cockroach down closest toilet'”

Emi – “Swats cockroach off of bass guitar and continues playing without missing a beat”

Tony – “Jumps back 2 feet, then stomps the sucker”

Chris – “Squeals like a little girl, runs out of room, Lysol’s himself, brushes teeth, Purell hands and face, and calls Pat to ask if cockroach is gone”

2) Does anyone in the band like to play practical jokes? If so, what’s one of the all-time best ones?

Chris and I probably have an even amount of incriminating photos of each other in the cloud…you know…as “insurance”. We both tend to have embarrassing moments where we both make eye contact and one of us slowly pulls out their phone for a picture,

3) What’s the last gift you received? Or the last gift you gave someone?

One of my favorite shows as a kid was Mystery Science Theater 3000, so for our anniversary, my wife got me tickets to see a live version of the show and I am SO pumped!

4) If you could pick one thing about yourself that you’d like your fans to know, what would it be?

Before I joined STATION, I trained for years as an opera singer and I am a HUGE fan of classical music…in my free time, I love listening to Schubert, Schumann, Beethoven, and Mozart. I truly believe that operatic technique should be the core fundamental to any singer. Also, Wagner is pretty much documented as the very first metalhead. The guy literally invented an instrument called the “octobass” which required 2 people to play, and the lowest string is inaudible to human hearing…that’s pretty brutal!

5) What music are you listening to lately?

About 3 months ago, I made a video on TikTok using “King of Wishful Thinking” and I have probably listened to it at least once a day ever since…after it’s finished I kind of let Spotify play related songs so it’s been a lot of Roxette, Tears For Fears, Billy Ocean basically late 80s early 90s synth pop.
