May 27, 2026 – On the first stop in the Texas leg of “The Rise of Rock World Tour 2026,” Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots, and Dorothy, proved that everything is bigger in Texas, including the sounds, energy, and roar of a packed house – The Toyota Music Factory in Irving, TX. An impromptu high-school reunion and an encore featuring one of Dallas’ own up-and-coming vocal talents were only a small part of the show that ultimately left everyone begging for more.

While the sun set in the distance, the band Dorothy rose from stage-left, prepping the fans for what was to come. The Los Angeles-based hard rock band fronted by Dorothy Martin delivered a performance that blended raw power with undeniable charisma.
Since emerging in the mid-2010s, the group has built a reputation for blending blues-rock grit, classic-rock influences, and modern hard-rock power, for which there was no shortage of.

Their set combined heavy guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and soulful vocals that evoke the spirit of classic rock while maintaining a contemporary edge. With almost 1 million monthly listens on Spotify, Dorothy has become one of the more recognizable names in modern hard rock, fusing blues-infused riffs, Southern-rock swagger, and arena-ready choruses into a sound that feels both timeless and fresh.

During the set, Dorothy even spotted a high-school classmate and reminisced about their times together as cheerleaders, while Martin, the “bad” one, painted her nails black and listened to Marilyn Manson.

Next up was Stone Temple Pilots, fronted by Jeff Gutt, who has been the lead vocalist for the band since November 2017. Keeping things modern while paying homage to the past was the hallmark of the set, celebrating the band’s legacy while showcasing its continued vitality.

Jumping into the crowd for “Down,” as well as honoring the past by dedicating “Big Empty” to the band’s original frontman, Scott Weiland, were signature moments, but the sing-along to “Plush” defined the set and the connection between the band and the fans.

The entire set was a varitable “best of” from the band’s catalog and finished off with “Tripping on a Hole in a Paper Heart” and “Sex Type Thing,” leaving both band and fans yearning for more.

Headlining the evening at the Toyota Music Factory, Godsmack delivered a commanding performance that served as a fitting finale to an unforgettable night of rock music. From the moment the band took the stage, fans were treated to a visually stunning production featuring an elaborate laser light show that illuminated the venue with bursts of color synchronized to the music.
The combination of powerful visuals and the band’s signature hard-hitting sound created an immersive concert experience that kept the audience engaged throughout the set.
Godsmack’s setlist featured a mix of newer material and longtime fan favorites, showcasing the band’s ability to evolve while staying true to the sound that has made them one of rock’s most enduring acts.

Songs such as “When Legends Rise,” “Cryin’ Like a Bitch,” “Straight Out of Line,” “Awake,” “Surrender,” “Keep Away,” and “Whatever” were met with a sea of raised fists and voices that matched the intensity of the band.

Perhaps the most memorable part of the night, was when local talent Grace Figueroa, from the band Little Queen – Music Inspired by Heart, joined the band on stage. Figueroa embraced the moment and filled the stage as only she could during a special segment featuring classic rock covers of “Dream On,” “Come Together,” and “Stairway to Heaven.”
Fans of Figueroa’s raised their phones in unison to capture the moment forever and those that witnessed the performance would not soon forget her name.
