Drum Queen, Gina Schock, joins her Go-Go’s sisters as a top-notch author. Showcasing her exceptional photography skills in her new book, Made in Hollywood, Schock takes fans on a fabulous four-decade journey.
It might as well be the year of the Go-Go’s! On the heels of the release of their Critics Choice Award-winning Showtime documentary, they are getting ready to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 30th. Not long after, they will set off on their West Coast tour and head to the UK for a few shows with Billy Idol in 2022.
“You get the five of us in one room; the energy is palpable,” Schock told People Magazine of the band’s seasoned chemistry.
Meanwhile, Schock has released a fantastic account of the band’s epic odyssey to the Hall of Fame. Taking fans behind the scenes in an intimate exploration of the life of an iconic 80’s band by sharing personal polaroids, posters, and photographs from her private treasure trove of keepsakes.

In addition to the yearbook of photos, the book also hosts stories from her bandmates, bassist Kathy Valentine and lead singer Belinda Carlisle. Lending to the storytelling are the likes of Jodie Foster, Dave Stewart, and Paul Reubens.
Schock has played in bands since she was thirteen years old. With four decades of drumming for the Go-Go’s under her belt, Gina has also produced and co-written songs for Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus; also with Carnie and Wendy Wilson of Wilson Phillips and Alanis Morissette.
Schock shows her visually vulnerable side in this book through her photography. Gina shared with the Houston Press that she’s had a love of photography her whole life.

In celebration of her book launch, Gina is graciously hosting two intimate events in southern California. The Hall of Fame VIP After Party & Book Launch will take place on Friday, Nov. 5, at Harley in Laguna Beach. Fans will receive an autographed copy of “Made in Hollywood: All Access with the Go-Go’s,” with the chance to win signed merchandise. You can also catch Gina at another VIP event with fellow Go-Go, Kathy Valentine, on Nov. 6 at Mr. Musichead Gallery in Los Angeles.
