Metallica Release Video Preview of “Black Album” Photo Book

This week Metallica unveiled the trailer for their new book of photos Metallica: The Black Album in Black & White, set to be released October 19th.

The book showcases images taken by music photographer Rob Halfin and features images taken of the band in the early 90s. It includes images from that time of Metallica band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, former bass player Jason Newstead, and current bassist Robert Trujillo.

The coffee table book provides a visual account of the recording and touring of Metallica’s 1991 self-titled “Black Album,” known as such because of the color of the album art.

Fans can order Metallica’s photo book now at their site’s official web store. Stay tuned for information regarding signed editions of the book that will be available at a later date.

Of the book, their press release states: “Ross Half was with the band during the album sessions at One on One Studios in North Hollywood and documented the 300-date tour that followed. The hectic performing schedule is mixed with many unique portrait sessions and candid, backstage documentary-style photography, rehearsals, interviews, band meetings, and travel.”
