Seether has released Vicennial- 2 Decades of Seether- their newest collection of chart-topping hits attributing to their acclaimed alternative status
The anniversary album is a compilation of 20 songs, each of which have amassed to their spot as Billboard’s #8 All-Time Mainstream Rock Artist, which covers the chart’s 40-year existence in the genre. 16 of the songs have landed #1 chart positions such as “Remedy”, “Fake It”, and “Broken (ft Amy Lee)”.
Forming in South Africa in 1999, Seether’s comforting alternative sound and dedication to fans led them to global fame quickly. Seether’s newest album Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum (If You Want Peace, Prepare for War) landed them two #1 singles, showing off their fanbase’s expansive network across the eras. Seether has been a relevant force in the alternative genre since before social media, and continues to hold their spot and acclaim because of their limitless talent.
Seether’s vocalist Shaun Morgan reflected on the band’s career and the album in a press release:
“Twenty years is a major milestone for us; we’ve been on an amazing ride – alongside our fans – and we plan to continue that journey. Putting Vicennial together gave us a chance to look back on our body of work over the years, and to rediscover some of our older songs during the pandemic that brought us all to a standstill. We hope that everyone enjoys the compilation as much as we do now, after this historic lockdown, and we look forward to seeing our fans again at live shows in the future.”
