Porno for Pyros Release First Song in 26 Years: “Agua”

Porno For Pyros have released “Agua,” their first new song in 26 years. The track will be the first single off of their upcoming EP which is set for release in early 2024.

Originally written during recording sessions for the band’s 1996 album, Good God’s Urge, “Agua” was never recorded at the time. But the band’s reunited classic lineup — Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins, Peter DiStefano, and Martyn LeNoble — recently entered the studio to record the track, as well as other new songs marked for the EP.

Regarding the track, Farrell said: “The people who live here on the West Coast have a beautiful love and passion for the Pacific Ocean. The ocean doesn’t look right, doesn’t feel right, doesn’t surf right. You go and swim in it, and you get the creeps. The sunsets are different. We are really, really screwing it up. We have to do something about it. I wanted to bring attention to it through the best megaphone that I know, which is music.”

Porno for Pyros recently announced they’ll hit the road on a farewell tour in 2024. The US trek kicks off February 13th in Santa Ana, California, and runs through March 10th where it wraps in Montclair, New Jersey.
