So… Kristopher Shadows bleeds black when it comes to music. Everything about the goth scene, its sound, the clothing, its vibe covers me like a warm blanket on a dark, cold UK winter’s night. The sonic vibrations emitting from the speakers signaling out the tones created by the legends like Peter Murphy, Ian Curtis, Siouxsie Sioux, and Robert Smith is frankly a religious experience that compares to no other; it’s church… and Friday night, September 15, 2023 at the Granada Theater in Dallas, Texas, church is in session as Wayne Hussey, Craig Adams, and Simon Hinkler bring The Mission (UK) gospel to town.
Born out of Sisters of Mercy and Artery, The Mission (UK) was formed in 1986. As a pioneer in the gothic rock genre, the band’s catalog consists of ten studio albums, three live albums, and numerous compilations. Although they’ve gone through several lineup changes in the last THIRTY SEVEN YEARS… Wayne, Craig, and Simon are still around like they were in the beginning. There’s just no substitute for longevity.
Supported by The Chameleons and Theatre of Hate, the Deja Vu Tour rolls through town Friday night. So wear your best blacks, church begins at 8pm.
