On September 26th, Kansas City’s T-Mobile Center hosted Avenged Sevenfold’s 2023 tour in support of their new album, Life Is But A Dream.  Their 8th album, which dropped on June 2, 2023, is their first studio release since 2016’s The Stage. The album’s first single, “Nobody,” was released in March of 2023 and quickly climbed the charts.

The lights dimmed as Avenged Sevenfold prepared to take the stage, and the audience was on edge with anticipation.  The darkness was filled with thousands of phone lights sparkling across the packed arena. The crowd began to chant: “Sevenfold…Sevenfold…Sevenfold” and then the show began. The guys started the evening with “Game Over” off of their latest release.

The stage remained softly lit, but the screens and backdrops made up for it, making for an amazing visual experience. Next, Avenged Sevenfold hit the frenetic crowd with “Mattel,” “Afterlife” and “Hail to the King.”  The song “So Far Away,” from 2010’s Nightmare, was an emotional one that reminisced about the loss of drummer their drummer, The Rev, in 2009.

The night was filled with amazing musicianship. The blistering, melodic guitar work of Synyster Gates and the powerful pipes of singer M. Shadows made for a high-energy show that the enthusiastic fans were happy to be a part of.  The crowd’s chants and the energetic mosh pit the fans created, combined with the band’s onslaught of hit after hit had the entire arena on its feet and was evidence of the spectacular showmanship of Avenged Sevenfold.  This show was one for the books!

Supporting bands on this tour are Kim Dracula, with this being his first major outing, as well as Falling in Reverse. This trek consists of 17 shows which kicked off September 16th in West Palm Beach, Florida, and runs through October 15th when the tour concludes in Fort Worth, Texas.
