FAN REVIEW: Architects – 1/6/23 – Hamburg Sporthalle

Sleep Token, Northlane, and a two hour set of Architects all on one evening was a pretty special way to start off the new year: Starting with Sleep Token who very mystically dressed performed their set which was epic to watch, to Nortlane who pretty impressively performed their set making it look like as if they already were the headliner to Architects who pretty much played everything their ten albums are about.

Receiving constant “Architects, Architects!” claps between songs showed how grateful everyone was to see this band. It was so heartwarming to watch – seeing Sam Carter being entirely thankful for all the support, constantly saying how much he loved (like REALLY loved!) everyone. He, also being the perfect frontman dressed in zebra boots (so fancy!!), mentioned that he’s happy about people who have seen them live before but also happy about every single person who caught them for the first time this night, made you feel very included, especially making everyone feel seen who ever felt like an outcast by talking about mental health and the struggle (and reward!) it is to seek help.

Mentioning his own fears going through his health process, this show was not just musically everything but also one essentially for the heart too, because all these words meant a lot… so thank you Sam Carter for being so vulnerable!
