Pentatonix show on December 2nd at the Giant Center – Hershey, PA

Fan Review by Craig Trostle

The Christmas show at The Giant Arena in Hershey Park was disappointing. I follow Pentatonix and have always praised their incredible voices and stage presentations but this show was disappointing.

Even though their voices were still magnificent as was their desire to present their music in a very creative way….there were many problems with this show.

First, they created a remote stage in the exact opposite direction from the main stage that was on the other end of the Arena…..this made the preferred seats close to the main stage far away from the new remote Stage. For this reason, the fans that paid extra money to be close to the main stage had to watch the live performance on the Video Screen.  As it turned out about 1/2 the show was in the complete opposite direction from the main stage even though all the seats were facing the main stage.  As a fan that paid good money to be close to the stage, I didn’t appreciate watching them on a video screen….I could have stayed at home to do this and been much happier.

Also, I felt the lighting on the stage on many occasions shined bright lights directly at the audience.  This blinded the fans to the point I had to look down at the floor to get away from the annoying bright lights.

I also felt the music was so loud that it gave me a headache….I know the sound acoustics aren’t great in the Arena but to blow out the fans in the front of the stage so the people far away can hear the music doesn’t work.  I think the stage manager that designed the remote stage, the lighting and the sound volume should be removed from his/her position.

If I rated this show I would give it a 2 out of 5 stars because of these reasons. I feel this is a shame because all the group members put their heart and soul into the show but these problems ruined it for me.
