The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie began their co-headlining tour at The Anthem in Washington, DC on Tuesday, September 5th. As frontman Ben Gibbard pulled double duty, DCFC celebrated the 20th anniversary of Transatlanticism with a full performance of the album, while The Postal Service played their LP, Give Up, in its entirety.

For the night’s big finish, Gibbard’s two bands came together to cover Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence.”

Check out the fan-captured footage of the performance below.

The tour continues Wednesday with a second show at The Anthem, then the bands will hit cities like Portland, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, Austin, and Seattle.

Rotating special guest openers include CHVRCHES singer Lauren Mayberry, Warpaint, Built to Spill, and Pedro the Lion.
