Thursday has released their first new song in 13 years, “Application for Release From the Dream.”

This is their first new song since their 2011 album, No Devolución, and is also their first independent release in 25 years. In a press release shared by the band, they called themselves “just a group of friends still having fun together after all these years.”

“[No] matter the size of the stages we’ve played in those 25 years, we remain— at heart — a small band, a bunch of kids still screaming in a basement. But we’re your small band and we love you. Thanks for everything.”

The press release says “the band are also continuing to work on more new music with plans to roll out songs as they record them, unmoored from the traditional approach of releasing albums.”
